In light of the recent COVID-19 epidemic, some pharmacies have started installing plexiglass as a method to protect pharmacists and staff members.
Support Fund Available
A total of $110,000 in funding from Health Canada for pharmacist OAT training has been reallocated to provide funds for BC community pharmacies to help offset the cost of the purchasing and installation of physical barriers (e.g. Plexiglass) between pharmacy staff and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. The funding will be allocated based on the number of applications received, and we anticipate funding of approximately $80-$120 per pharmacy.
Vendors
The BC Pharmacy Association has reached out to companies that can supply and/or install Plexiglass products. This is not an exhaustive list as some companies could not be reached or have reduced hours.
When asking for a quote, vendors would require the following the information:
- Picture of where the Plexiglass should be installed
- Dimensions of the Plexiglass
